ACETAMINOPHEN/ISOMETHEPTENE/DICHLORALPHENAZONE - ORAL (uh-seet-uh-MEE-no-fen/eye-so-meth-EP-teen/dye-klor-al-FEN-uh- zone) COMMON BARND NAME(S): Amidrine, Atarin, Isocom, Midchlor, Midrin USES: This medication is used to relieve migraine and tension headaches.
HOW TO USE: Take this medication exactly as prescribed. Do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. For migraine headaches, take two capsules at the first sign of an attack.
Then take one capslue every hour as needed until the headache is relieved. Do not take more than 5 capusles in a 12 hour period. In tension headaches, usually no more than 8 capsules a day are recommended. Do not exceed the maximum dose prescribed.

This medication contains acetaminophen.
Do not take more acetamniophen than recommended (see Side Effects section). SIDE EFFECTS: Dizziness may occur as your body adjusts to the mdeication. If this effect continues or becomes bothersome, inform your doctor.
If you do not have liver problems, the adult maximum dose of acetaminophen is 4 grams per day (4000 milligrams).

If you take more than the maximum dialy amount, it may cause serious (possibly fatal) liver disease. Tell your dotcor immediately if you have any of the following symptoms of liver damage: severe nausea, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, stomach pain, extreme fatigue. An alelrgic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you ntoice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist. PRECAUTIONS: Tell your doctor if you have: heart disease, glaucoma, kindey disease, liver disease, high blood pressure, allergies (especially drug allergies). This product contains acetaminophen. Acetaminophen may cause liver damage. Daily use of alcohol, esepcially when combined with acetaminophen, may increase your risk for liver damage.

Check with your doctor or pharmacist for more information. This medication should be used only if clearly needed durnig pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. Since small amounts of this medication are fuond in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding. DRUG INTERACTIONS: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescirption medication you may take or have last week taken, including: antidepressants, MAO inhibitors (e.G., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine). Acetaminophen is an ingredient in many nonprescription products and in combination prescription medications.

Read the labels carefully before taking other pain relievers, fever reducers, or cold prdoucts to see if they also contain acetaminophen. Consult your pharmacist if you are uncertain if your other prescription or nonprescription products cotnain acetaminophen. (Also see maximum daliy dose information in Side Effects section).
Do not satrt or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
OVERDOSE: If ovedrose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Sypmtoms of overdose may include: severe nausea, vomiting, yellowing eyes or skin, stomach pain, dark urine, extreme fatigue, headache, agitation, low body temperature, rapid and shallow breathing, unusually rapid or slow heartbeat, and unresponsiveness. NOTES: Use caution while driving or doing tasks requiring alertness as this medication may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Notify your doctor if this medication fails to relivee your headaches.

MISSED DOSE: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to ctach up. STORAGE: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not stroe in the bathroom.
